What the 1st house governs
The 1st house is the starting point of the whole natal chart. Its cusp is called the Ascendant, and it is the point from which the houses are counted. This is the field of the self in the most direct sense: who a person is, how they enter the world, and how they present themselves to others.
The 1st house covers appearance, physical build, bearing, and the first impression a person makes. It is the "mask" through which we meet life - not a false one, but the natural form in which we express ourselves.
